Ir. Ts. Mohd Fadly Bin Asmaai

Ir. Ts. Mohd. Fadly Bin Asmaai is a highly respected maritime and oil & gas professional with more than 20 years of industry experience spanning shipbuilding, marine engineering, classification, project management, and technical operations. He has worked with leading international classification societies including Lloyd's Register (LR), ABS, and RINA, as well as PETRONAS, Shell Deepwater, Sophia Engineering, and Wilhelmsen Ship Management.

His keynote will share insights on emerging maritime technologies, industry challenges, and future opportunities in driving sustainable and innovative maritime development — with particular focus on AI applications across the full asset lifecycle.

Keynote Synopsis AI in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of maritime assets — including ships, offshore structures, ports, and marine infrastructure. Covers ML, digital twins, autonomous systems, real-time analytics, and industry challenges in AI adoption.

Associate Professor Xin Wang

Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)

Associate Professor Xin Wang specialises in marine hydrodynamics, with extensive experience developing computational approaches for industry engineering challenges. His current focus is on innovative ship efficiency improvements and advanced fluid simulations, working closely with industry partners across the region.

Prior to joining SIT, Prof. Wang was Lecturer in Marine Hydrodynamics at Newcastle University and a Scientist at Osaka University. He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers on marine engineering, hydrodynamics and offshore structures.

A recognised expert in control and robotics systems with over 25 years of R&D experience in intelligent marine robotic systems. Prof. Rizal is a Professional Engineer (BEM), Professional Technologist (MBOT), Chartered Engineer, Senior Member of IEEE, Fellow of IMarEST, Fellow of AAIA, and Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. He founded the IEEE Ocean Engineering Society (OES) Malaysia Chapter and received the IEEE OES Presidential Award 2019. Currently serving as IEEE OES Distinguished Lecturer 2024–2026.

Malaysia Marine Department (MMD)

A maritime professional with over 20 years of experience spanning government administration, marine engineering, and maritime policy. Previously seconded to the Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA) 2022–2025 as Fellow and Head of the Center for Ocean Law and Policy. From 2017 to 2019, he worked as a marine propeller design engineer in Southampton, UK, specialising in fixed-pitch propellers for luxury yachts and workboats.

Holds a B.Eng. in Marine Technology (UTM) and M.Sc. in Maritime Studies (UMT).

Associate Professor, Program of Naval Architecture
Faculty of Ocean Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu

An academic and researcher in Naval Architecture with professional qualifications including PEng, ASEAN Eng., CEng (UK), and CMarEng. He obtained his PhD in Naval Architecture from Hiroshima University, Japan. With more than 16 years of experience in academia, research, consultancy and professional practice, he has contributed to ship hydrodynamics, CFD, propulsion, seakeeping, offshore structures, and AI applications in maritime engineering.

Has led and contributed to 20 national and international research grants amounting to RM 7.12 million.

Prof. Norhazilan bin Md Noor

Professor, Faculty of Civil Engineering
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia

A senior academic at UTM with over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration. His research expertise focuses on Reliability Engineering, structural integrity, and risk assessment — particularly in pipeline and offshore infrastructure systems. A Chartered Marine Engineer registered with IMarEST and the UK Engineering Council, and Editor-in-Chief of the Malaysian Journal of Civil Engineering and the ASEAN Engineering Journal.

Author of over 200 publications, actively involved in international collaborations and Industry 4.0-driven research including Digital Twin and predictive maintenance systems.
